Michigan Ear, Nose and Throat

Gail Weddington joined Michigan Ear Nose and Throat Associates and Bloomfield Hearing in August 2011. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

She holds Certificates of Clinical Competence in both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and a Michigan audiology license.

Dr. Weddington has earned the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Psychology, Wayne State University, 1980
  • Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, Western Michigan University, 1981
  • Master of Arts in Audiology, Ohio University, 1986
  • Doctor of Audiology, University of Florida, 2000

Gail was a speech-language pathologist, treating persons with neurological communication disorders for three years prior to becoming an audiologist. She has been an audiologist since 1986, specializing in diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology as well as clinical education. Gail worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Oakwood Hospital and Wyandotte General Hospital early in her career. She also taught clinical and rehabilitative audiology in the Doctor of Audiology programs at Central Michigan University and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her areas of interest are client advocacy, serving persons with multiple disabilities, and providing audiological rehabilitation, including amplification and assistive listening devices.

What do you enjoy most about being an audiologist?

“I love to find solutions for challenging listening situations, especially for someone who hasn’t heard for a long time and for those who have additional physical or sensory handicaps.”
